Product Description

Rx11-flush® is designed to quickly and easily flush contaminants from air conditioning and refrigeration systems and line sets. It is ideal for flushing after a compressor burnout, during a refrigerant retrofit, or at a new system installation. Formulated as a unique solvent, Rx11-flush is an azeotropic cleaner that is fast acting, fast evaporating, compatible with system components, nonflammable and noncorrosive.

Directions

This product must be used in accordance to the following directions by HVACR professionals only.

General Guidelines

  1. Disconnect compressor and electricity. It is recommended that expansion valves, capillary tubes and filter driers be removed or by-passed. If possible, flush system in sections.
  2. Place a container or pail at outlet point of flushing to catch contaminants, which should be disposed of properly.
  3. If possible, install or create a slight restriction at the outlet point; this will enhance contact time and result in a better flushing.
  4. Connect the Injection Valve (4300-89)* to Rx11-flush canister; do not overtighten. The valve is equipped with a 1/4˝ flare fitting which will connect to a charging hose such as the 4300-52. Utilize the Rx11-flush Gun (4300-51) to simplify control at injection point.
  5. One canister will flush a 3-4 ton system or 1-2 line sets (four 35´lines), but the amount will vary depending on line configuration and contamination level. Inject Rx11-flush into the system using below guide:

Up to 1/2˝ tubing: Use a 20-30 second burst of Rx11-flush through each line for every 50 feet.

Up to 7/8˝ tubing: Use a 60-90 second burst of Rx11-flush through each line for every 50 feet.

  6. Follow with 120 psig compressed nitrogen to increase mass flow and purge flush and contaminants. DANGER: Insure the Rx11-flush canister is not connected to the nitrogen purge.
  7. Either inject additional Rx11-flush or make required repairs. Pull vacuum to boil off any remaining flush.

    ADDITIONAL TIPS:

    1. If any flush remains in canister, it can be saved for future flushing. Simply turn Injection Valve fully counterclockwise and remove from canister. If local regulations permit, recycle this canister.

    2. For extra protection, charge system with Rx-Acid Scavenger® (4301-02) as insurance to protect against acid contamination.

    3. See application bulletin 3-112 for additional details. Use only the appropriate refrigerant, proper recovery equipment, component parts, tools and lubricants as established in the industry and as listed in this service bulletin.
